Hands-on Expert Workshops
Dear Participants
We invite you "Children's Academy" We are writing to invite you to the workshop titled "Critical Pedagogy". This workshop aims to share the knowledge filtered through a Critical Pedagogy practice experiment that we initiated at Eğitim Sen Mersin Branch between 2018-2020 and to receive your contributions to develop this experience.
This workshop is important in showing how educators, academics and education practitioners can work together in a trade union environment. On the scale of our two-year implementation experience, four separate education modules were designed for the children of union members. This experience has the potential to be a favorable model for reaching especially disadvantaged children in municipalities. It can also help to provide a separate channel for presenting the experience and knowledge practices accumulated at the union level for the benefit of society.
In this process, participants are expected to participate in discussions. This workshop is intended for those who want to take critical pedagogy practices outside the classroom environment and develop an alternative perspective to traditional educational content and method by offering new perspectives.

Dear Participants
We invite you "Critical pedagogy and creative drama" This workshop aims to make students aware of creative drama, a teaching method that is very close to the perspective of Critical Pedagogy, and the process of creating creative products by doing and experiencing.
This workshop will take place with examples that educators, academics and people interested in education can benefit from and will open the door to get rid of narrow patterns in the education system. As someone who has 25 years of experience in the use of creative drama in every field, especially in educators, I aim to contribute to the development of a different perspective and a questioning perspective of the participants.
In order to raise individuals who are creative thinkers, researchers, productive and have a critical perspective in society, there is a need for pedagogical practices such as creative drama in which active participation takes place at every stage of the process. In the creative drama process, the learner finds and discovers information and creates a product.
This workshop is for those who want to develop critical thinking against the classical teaching methods that are stuck in the traditional education system, offering new openings to those who want to teach lessons differently in the classroom environment in accordance with the logic of critical pedagogy.

Workshop content:
Racism is a type of behavior that can take various forms in relations between people, and while it is often invisible to the dominant perception, it has serious consequences on the body, emotions and subconscious and is not talked about much. From time to time, when it is voiced and politically instrumentalized, it is a trend that leads to great slaughter. These behaviors, often unconsciously practiced by the practitioner, are learned from childhood. The children who are victims of it are subjected to systemic racism.
In the workshop, we will explore together the ways in which we can discuss the racism that permeates our bodies and discourses. With various tools and games, we will reflect on what anti-racist pedagogy is and its possibilities.
Criteria for workshop participants:
Anyone who works with children, who is thinking about racism and its manifestations, who is open to talking together and exploring tools can participate in this workshop. However, as participation is limited, please make your final registration by bookmarking the workshop on the congress website.
